Contraindications
Contraindications for Dermaflash / Dermaplane Treatments:
Current inflamed acne lesions; Skin cancer; Active cold sores; Uncontrolled diabetes; Dermatitis;
Open skin lesions; Use of Accutane currently or in the past six months; and/or.
The use of prescription retinol within a week of treatment.
Contraindications Hydrafacial Treatments:
Use of Accutane currently or in the past six months; and/or. The use of prescription retinol within a week of treatment.
Topical steroid: We suggest not to treat patients using topical steroids.
Patients who have recently had a chemical peel should WAIT 2 to 3 weeks before getting a hydro or microdermabrasion infusion session.
PREPARE AND PLAN: Right after the procedure, patients MUST avoid sun exposure. A sunscreen with a 30 SPF or
higher should be used for at least 14 days after the treatment.
Do NOT use prescription retinol products for 48 - 72 hours before the procedure. The patient
MAY RESUME prescription retinoid product use 5 to 7 days after the procedure.
1. Do NOT use exfoliators or any other creams 48 to 72 hours before your procedure.
2. DO NOT swim or undergo facial waxing for at least 48 hours after your Hydrofacial treatment.
3. DO NOT go to the sauna or have a botox procedure at least 48 hours after your Hydrofacial treatment.
Others: We suggest not to treat patients with current medical treatment that involve the following: cortisone, steroids treatment, and photosensitive drugs and herbs such as psoralen and St. John's wort.
Current history of skin cancer or any other current condition of cancer or premalignant moles Diseases which may be stimulated by heat such as recurrent herpes simplex in the treatment area may only be treated following a prophylactic regimen Impaired immune system due to immunosuppressive diseases such as HIV, AIDS, or use of immunosuppressive medications Any active condition in the treatment area, such as sores, psoriasis, eczema or rash
Contraindications for Microdermabrasion Treatments:
Current inflamed acne lesions; Skin cancer; Active cold sores; Uncontrolled diabetes; Dermatitis; Open skin lesions; Use of Accutane currently or in the past six months; and/or.
The use of prescription retinol within a week of treatment.
Contraindications Microchanneling (Microneedling) Treatments:
Pregnancy - If you are pregnant or nursing you are advised to not receive any MicroChanneling treatments as a general rule that pregnant women should stay away from any type of cosmetic/elective procedures
Diabetes - Unstable diabetes patients should not be treated due to problems with healing
Accutane or any related acne medication - Accutane or any related drug should be discontinued for a minimum of 6 months prior to undergoing MicroChanneling
Active Herpes Simplex - In the treatment area- treatment is possible once the outbreak is healed. However it may be advisable to take prescription strength antiviral medication to keep this condition in remission during treatment series
Dry Skin - If you skin is overly dry, you will need to start moisturizing and ensure the condition is under control prior to undergoing any treatment
Any active inflammatory skin condition - e.g. eczema, psoriasis, infection, rash, or any type of dermatitis at the treatment site
Contraindications Nano-Infusion Treatments:
- Pregnancy or nursing mothers
- Use of Accutane currently or in the past six months; and/or.
- The use of prescription retinol within a week of treatment.
- Active or inactive psoriasis
- Scleroderma
- Unidentified lesions, rashes, or any skin infections
- Rosacea
- Extensive telangiectasia (spider veins)
- Recent herpes outbreak
- Diabetes or other auto-immune system disorders
- Photosensitivity medications Sunburn
Contraindications Ultrasonic Treatments:
- Pacemakers
- Circulation disorders
- Acute/severe infection
- Cancer patients
- Diabetes
- Blood disorders
- Heart conditions
- Seizures
