Hydrafacial versus Hydrofacial: What are the Differences?

Hydrofacials and hydrafacials have become increasingly popular among individuals  seeking advanced skincare solutions. While these treatments share similarities, their unique benefits cater to different skin concerns, making it essential to understand their differences. Many clients have asked what is the difference between a Hydrafacial versus a Hydrofacial. In my professional opinion, with 15 + years experience the answer is nothing other than the fact that Hydrafacial is a registered trademark with a patented hydro dermabrasion system. Both the Hydro or Hydra facial devices use the same type of technology which utilizes a wand with a silicone dermabrasion tip which suctions and infuses the skin with a water based serum or acid.

The Key Differences Between Hydrofacials and Hydrafacials

The Hydrofacial is also called the Hydrafacial, AquaPeel, Hydrabrasion and they all utilize a technology that infuses the skin with a customized serum at the moment of exfoliation which allows the skin to experience maximum penetration of active ingredients at optimal skin depths. Because of the hydra / hydro Infusion's distinctive simultaneous technology your skin will experience plumpness, volume, hydration tone and texture. This no-downtime skin rejuvenation facial  treatment helps refine, polish, and hydrate your skin to achieve amazing results. It has immediate effects and also long-term benefits.

How Hydrofacials Work:

It is a 4 step non-invasive procedure that:

  • Cleans and exfoliates
  • Removes dirt and debris from pores
  • Extracts impurities
  • Adds hydration and serums to nourish the skin

The HydroFacial removes (exfoliates) dead skin cells that have built up on the surface of the skin and clears blocked pores with a unique vortex effect which is very gentle on the skin and suitable for even the most sensitive of skin types. The ‘hydro” term refers to the additional effect of a special water treatment to cleanse the skin further and most importantly provide hydration and it allows for enhanced absorption of nourishing serums. The Hydrofacial treatment allows for the gentle removal of dead skin cells and impurities with each pass while simultaneously hydrating and nourishing the skin.

Benefits of Hydrofacials:

Both hydrafacial and hydrofacial treatments are designed to enhance skin health, but their benefits extend far beyond hydration and exfoliation. Clients frequently report improved skin texture, minimized pores, and a noticeable glow after just one session. For residents of Fort Collins, the dry mountain air can take a toll on skin health, making these treatments especially beneficial.

The Hydrofacial is able to be customized to each individual skin type and condition and can improve the appearance of:

  • Dry or Dehydrated skin
  • Congested skin
  • Oily skin
  • Rosacea
  • Milia
  • Comedones (open and closed)
  • Fine lines
