Reopening Update!

May 1st, 2020

Dear Guests, Family & Friends,

First we want to say how much we miss all of you. This has been a challenging time for so many us. A recent article by Richard Rohr illuminates our situation.  perfectly.

Between Two Worlds

“Liminal space is an inner state and sometimes an outer situation where we can begin to think and act in new ways. It is where we are betwixt and between, having left one room or stage of life but not yet entered the next. We usually enter liminal space when our former way of being is challenged or changed—perhaps when we lose a job or a loved one, during illness, at the birth of a child, or a major relocation. It is a graced time, but often does not feel “graced” in any way. In such space, we are not certain or in control. This global pandemic we now face is an example of an immense, collective liminal space”.

Soak Spa & Foot Sanctuary is officially opening May 21st for services. We will be open for product and gift certificate purchases starting May 1st. We ask that you call ahead so that we can have your purchases ready for pick up and that you pre-pay with a debit or credit card.

We are following the mandates set by Larimer County Dept of Health at https://covid19.colorado.gov/safer-at-home/safer-at-home-limited-health-care-settings and will not be opening until safety and protective standards are in place for our guests and our staff. As we get clear on what these measures will be we will post updates.  There is a possibility that we will forgo opening based on the scientific data and directives from our government officials.  Moreover, we have signage, protective personal equipment and updates to the spa that will need to be implemented before we open.

When we do open we can provide massage and foot services until we receive further directives. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to offer any skincare treatments except brow or body waxing. Staff and guests will have to wear face masks when in the spa and during any services that are performed.

If you would like to purchase a gift certificate for Mother’s Day please call at 970-377-9868, email at info@soakspashop.com or click the following link to purchase online at https://www.vagaro.com/soakskincarespa/gift-certificates. You will need to call the spa to schedule a pick-up and pre-pay for purchases made.

Dear Clients, Family, Friends and Employees…

After much heartfelt conversation, research and contemplation we are truly sad to let you know that we are temporarily closing Soak Spa & Foot Sanctuary.  In aligning with our mission to “Do No Harm,” we believe the health, wellness and protection of our guests, staff and community comes first.  “Soak Spa has a heartfelt desire to provide a peaceful oasis where guests can let go, breathe deeply, and receive healing touch in an environment that is nurturing and safe.” With that in mind we will be temporarily closed until April 30th, 2020. We will update our open date once we know more.

This afternoon, Governor Jared Polis announced a number of state actions to further address the spread and impact of COVID-19. Among those actions is an updated order from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) mandating that all businesses conducting “nonessential personal services” close to entry, exit, use, and occupancy by members of the public through April 30, 2020.

This order, effective immediately, impacts DORA licensees in the Barber/Cosmetology and Massage Therapy fields. Hair stylists, nail technicians, barbers, estheticians, cosmetologists, massage therapists, and shop owners in the barber/cosmetology industry licensed by the Division of Professions and Occupations are impacted.

Updated Public Health Order 20-22 defines nonessential personal services as “services and products that are not necessary to maintain an individual’s health or safety, or the sanitation or essential operation of a business or residence. Nonessential personal services include, but are not limited to, hair or nail salons, spas, or tattoo or massage parlors.”

We respect and honor our guests and staff and we do not want to contribute in any way to the possible spread of the COVID-19 virus in our community. We believe that taking this action sooner than later will help mitigate the spread of this pandemic. We ask for your support in making this decision and for your faith in us.

Gift certificates are available to be purchased through our website as a way to support us during this time, and any gift certificates that were originally expiring during this time-frame will be extended. Any membership credits accrued will rollover and be accessible when we reopen.

I felt compelled to share with all of you my own personal experience of having lost my home during Katrina in 2005 and becoming homeless overnight. I want to share that this was a life-shattering tragedy for myself, our family, friends, our community and way of life. After the shock and disbelief that something of this magnitude could happen we knew that working together as a community was what mattered most. We had to trust in a faith greater than ourselves to guide us and give us the strength to pick up the pieces of our lives and to establish a new way of living. The kindness and goodness of people was a daily miracle. Families, friends, businesses, non-profits, churches all came together to support each other and to hold each other up. I know from my own personal experience that we can and will get through this and that moments of joy and light will shine through.
